De tentoonstelling “Dreams of nature. Symbolisme van VanGogh tot Kandinsky” stelt ”landschap” gelijk aan “natuur”. In de periode van de art nouveau zou dat niet gepast zijn, maar hier wordt het symbolisme van het (stedelijke) landschap belicht. Mijn favoriet is het schilderij "Arbres Rouges" van Odilon Redon (rode boomstammen): Symbool van een geheim?
The Exhibition “Dreams of nature. Symbolism from Van Gogh to Kandinsky” equals “landscape” with “nature”. In the art nouveau period this would not be appropriate, but here symbolism of the (urban) landscape is highlighted. My favourite is the painting "Arbres Rouges" by Odilon Redon (red stems of trees): Symbol of a secret?
